Information for Referring Veterinarians
We are not a full-service hospital. We do not hospitalize pets overnight. Overnight hospitalization/ monitoring would need to be performed with your general practice veterinarian and/or a 24 hour veterinary emergency facility at your expense
Helping Hands does not have in-house radiology or ultrasound. All images and/or reports need to be sent prior to the procedure.

A copy of the patient’s medical records can be sent to info@helpinghandsvetVA.com or faxed to 804-355-3009. A copy of any requested biopsy or stone analysis results will be faxed to you for follow-up care. If you are a veterinarian who would like to speak with one of our veterinarians, please reach out to our office by phone or email to discuss your patient’s case. If it is an emergency, please indicate that in the phone call, voice message, or email subject line.
Our hospital is normally staffed Monday – Thursday 7:30 am- 5:30 pm.
We welcome calls from veterinarians with any questions. We look forward to helping your clients. If there is a surgery that is not listed on our website, please inquire. We do consider some procedures not listed on a case-by-case basis.
For surgeries, we simply require your medical notes stating what surgery the animal needs and why. These records can be faxed or emailed to us. Our fax number is 804-355-3009 and our email address is info@helpinghandsvetVA.com .
